When we were assigned this project, the challenge was to deal with existing tenants. The plot had two buildings. We had to retain the ground floor of one, and construct above it. The other building was demolished only later since the tenants agreed to shift only after the first building was complete.

Conceptually, the idea was to create a central pedestrian plaza between two buildings. The first building was constructed above the existing ground floor, with portal frame structure. The phase II building has road frontage on either side. So it was designed with a corner feature, with shops abutting on one of the important roads. A horizontal wing connects the two buildings with a double height entrance to the complex. The second building has a small wing to accommodate all tenants, whereas the corner wing accommodates all the offices.
